Southern Hip Hop Gospel Music Recording Label announces its artist, LaKeisha Rochelle, who is currently working on her debut album, Phoenix,

Lakeisha Rochelle is an actress, writer, director, and gospel/inspirational recording artist based in Houston, Texas.

She has been performing since the age of eight.  From the theatre stage, she won a Houston Broadway World Award for her portrayal of Billie Holliday in Lady Day. She also took home a Georgie Award for her portrayal of Nina Simone in Simply Simone.

As a writer and director, LaKeisha Rochelle has written children's shows such as Orisha The Great and Petey Pan and "The Nola Boys for the Ensemble Theatre, an adaptation of Tarzan The Musical for The Monarch School and an adaptation of Ronald Dahl's Matilda The Musical for A.D. Players. Most recently, she portrayed Audrey Lawson in the world premiere of The Lawsons (A Civil Rights Love Story) at The Ensemble Theatre.a

Lakeisha serves as the Youth and Family Director for the City of Refuge Church, and she also serves as the Community Engagement Coordinator for Youth for Christ Greater Houston.
